What is the purpose of a facial cleanser?
A facial cleanser is the first step in your skincare routine. It is designed to clean, lightly exfoliate, remove impurities, reduce oil buildup, and hydrate. Using a cleanser specifically formulated for your face and neck helps to maintain your skin’s microbiome, and ensures your skin is fully clean before applying your next step (serum/ moisturiser).
Is this a water-based cleanser?
Yes! The dussl Daily Hydrating Cleanser is water-based, giving it a lightweight texture that's suitable for all skin types. It effectively removes water-soluble impurities like sweat, dirt, excess oil and sebum, while preserving your skin’s natural moisture and barrier function.
Is this cleanser good for cleaning and reducing pores?
Yes! It has been formulated to effectively clean your face and neck, and reduce the appearance of pores in 3 x ways:
Cleansing – Surfactants (like Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate and Cocamidopropyl Betaine) cleanse your skin, without being too harsh. This helps to remove build-up that can cause your pores to be clogged/inflamed.
Exfoliating – Exfoliators (like Gluconolactone and Citric Acid) gently promote cell turnover, which helps to improve your skin texture and prevent dead skin cells from clogging pores.
Reducing – Niacinamide helps to regulate sebum production, which prevents pores from becoming clogged. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce redness and make pores appear smaller over time.
Is this cleanser for morning or night?
Both! It has been designed for twice-daily usage - as part of your simplified AM and PM skincare routine.
Is this cleanser gentle / suitable for my skin?
Yes, this cleanser is gentle, and suitable for all skin types. The formula has been dermatologically tested and is designed to be effective, without being harsh – so it’s suitable for everyday use, for everyone.
As with any change to your skincare routine, it’s recommended to take it slowly. Try one new product at a time (don’t go from 0 to 100 all at once), patch-test before applying fully, and avoid applying to broken or damaged skin.
How does this cleanser fit into my skincare routine?
Use it as your first step in the morning - to clean your skin after sleeping (this can be done at the end of your morning shower), before then applying other products (e.g. serum/ moisturiser). Then again, use as your first step in the evening - to clean your skin before bed, followed by applying other products (e.g. serum/ calming after sun gel/ night cream).

How do I use a cleanser?
Use as the first step in your AM and PM routine. Apply to damp skin. Gently rub in circular motions across your face and neck – focusing on your forehead, nose and chin. Then rinse with lukewarm water.
After cleansing AM, apply:
